| Trail Maintenance Notes: |
There is a widow maker hanging over one of the steeper sections of the Farwarden's trail. It is not hanging across, it is directly over it lengthwise, so when hikers move under it, they are in harms way for a good 25 or more feet. It is on a stone staircase section and I noticed it on my descent. There is not much hanging it up there either. I pray that it falls when no one is there AND it will make moving up and down that section of trail next to impassable, because you pretty much have to stay on the trail there. Trunk with branches stretched out will cover a wide area. Clean up won't be easy either. I see a potential for a high level of danger! |
