| Parking/Access Road Notes: |
We drove in from Katahdin Iron Works road towards the White Brook Tr., but stayed straight instead of turning left at the high bridge. We followed the main road towards Greenwood pond, parking where the road turned impassable just west of the pond. Lew's high clearance was much appreciated, though mid clearance or less may be okay. |

| Comments: |
We followed the road around the pond and bushwhacked east up Little Spruce. Woods were tight at times, but never too bad. From the recognized summit we worked our way towards Big Shanty. There is a cut boundary that runs high on the north slope of Little Spruce, to the col and high along the north slope of big shanty. We met this boundary and enjoyed very efficient walking to a point just north of Shanty. We bushwhacked to the recognized highpoint. Our return route was similar, though we stuck to the cut north of the highpoint instead of passing back over the highpoint. When on the north slope of little spruce, the boundary made a turn off heading, at which point we bushwhacked back to the pond. |
