Comments
Comments: Wanted to do something different, so I gave Bemis Mountain a go. Good hike. Best views are from Second Peak. Very muddy from the lean-to all the way to West Peak, sometimes it took some real gymnastics to avoid it. Rocks were wet but not as slippery as I thought, but the tree roots made up for it - they were slippery and actively tried to make me fall. Sun refused to come out so it was a bit chilly at the summits, but a nice crisp fall day overall. Color has started, but I'd say next weekend will be peak peeping. There are some creative cairns on this stretch of the AT.
