Comments
Comments: fine weather with temps 20's to 30's, mostly blue sky; NW wind an issue only in a few spots. about 4" crustly snow at parking lot which progressively increased to 1-1.5 feet higher up. we broke trail for 80% of the way until a couple guys went ahead to summit; when descending, a narrow trench was being established, although very messy under foot with melting snow/ice [will change with coming storm]. microspikes were helpful on icy sections; trail too irregular under foot to make snowshoes not helpful until more snow covers the rocks/roots.
over all, very nice day on a trail that is significant work. views from tower with metal ladder were infinite 360, but wind was nasty above the clearing.
Kestrel data (clearing): T=23F W=5mph WC=12F [wicked on tower]
