Comments
Comments: Above 2000' about 2-4" of wet snow. About 50% of the AT was running water. Didn't need microspikes until about 200' below the summit of West Baldplate. There was flow ice there. The trail from there on out was intense. The shoulder of East Baldplate was treacherous due to significant ice flows. Really needed crampons on a mountaineering axe. Took 2 sliding falls and feel fortunate be okay. Wind was intense, constant at about 25, 30mph, gusting into the 50s.
