 | Comments: |
No sign of any activity at the ski-area or on the trails - other than some XC-ski tracks which had crossed my tracks upon my return. And some faint ski-tracks all the way to the Saddleback Mtn. summit
Crusted snow all the way - breaking through 2-4" at lower elevation but getting increasingly hard and solid at higher elevation. Above tree-line everything is solid and it is easy to walk wherever you want. Light traction would be fine along the ridge if it wasn't for the 4-5 spruce bands that has to be crossed on the route between the 2 peaks. Deep snow in these sections. And finding the right trail corridor (which I did) is important as the sections are otherwise almost impenetrable. |
