Comments
Comments: From the parking area, snowmobiles had actually broken the trail most of the way to the beginning of the Fire Warden's trail. From the trailhead, an AMC group had come through 2 weeks prior so the first part of the trail only had ~6-8 inches of new powder and it wasn't too difficult to break. We made our way most of the way up toward the col, and had ~0.5 miles left before the steep sections became very deep and difficult. Thankfully at that point another group of two showed up, and we had some help! We wore snowshoes the whole way, and it was all powder except for some sections above treeline were icy but not difficult to get through. Another pair came up behind us, so a total of 6 folks packed down the trail nicely, but the snow is still very soft so snowshoes are still recommended. Total mileage ~14.4 miles.
