| Comments: |
The trail had a lot of sticky unbroken snow. Wasn't expecting there to be so much. 4 of us broke it out with snow shoes over to Avery Peak. Be careful on the Appalachian Trail in the exposed section. It is easy to loose the white markers this time of year, and we took the (in hindsight) unnecessary risk of climbing the false summit when we were off trail. Due to daylight concerns we turned back before being able to summit West Peak so as of Sunday night that direction remains unbroken. Best of luck and happy trails! |
