Happy to see the weather report was wrong - sunny skies provided great views for miles! Trail is largely dry, there are a few spots of mud most notably on the relocated section beginning about .9 miles from the summit. I was surprised to see a major relocation up top that took the trail off the original route (which is really just a stream now) and across some nice ledges. It still includes a short stretch of this original route which does have running water but nothing that isn't easy to avoid or just walk in. Ledges up top completely dry - if you wanted snow there were a few small patches still left in the trees. Saw 10 people out today along with two nice dogs. If you're in the area this is an easy 5 mile hike with great views - and of course later in the year just an outrageous quantity of blueberries! |
