Comments: "Embrace the suck" day.

BE ADVISED: THERE IS CURRENT LOGGING ACTIVITY HERE AND THE HERD PATH FROM THE ROAD HAS BEEN DECIMATED TO ~3500ft.

The road walk was easy enough but on the way up you could tell they where thinning the woods. By the time we reached the cairn we realized this was going to be a very long day. We where able to walk along the tops of the trees as they are still very green (likely cut in the last week, the deciduous had buds) and will hold weight. As the summer progresses, this likely will not be the case. I do not see how this trail is even remotely salvageable. There are hundreds of trees along the herd path. We made our way up with 'the path of least resistance' which was still very difficult. Coming down we found the herd path, but from about the swamp/wet skid road area on down it was just a free for all.

It's very likely the herd path will now have to be rerouted around this activity. It's very bad.
