|
 | Parking/Access Road Notes: |
From ME27, near Canada, hang a left at Round Mountain Pond Rd. This is Penobscot Nation property. Follow the main road until you reach a turn around where the road is barricaded by closely spaced boulders. Park there and commence your hike. |
|
 | Surface Conditions: |
Wet Trail, Mud - Minor/Avoidable, Mud - Significant |

 | Recommended Equipment: |

|
 | Water Crossing Notes: |
The Jeep road after the barricade on Round Mountain Pond Rd. is deeply rutted by ATVs and is filled with a lot of water. I was not able to keep my feet dry. |
|
 | Trail Maintenance Notes: |
Bushwhack, herd path. The cairns mark the herdpath departures from the rutted soggy Jeep trail pretty well. I thought the herd path was much more pleasant to tread on than the soggy ATV rutted Jeep trail. |
|
 | Dog-Related Notes: |
Nope |
|
 | Bugs: |
The bugs were the most difficult aspect of the hike. They were relentless, bloodthirsty and supremely annoying. |

 | Comments: |
Pay attention to the cairns. They mark the "trail" which is really a very well defined herd path. |
