 | Comments: |
Snowshoes are needed for the drifts and deep powder. On the summits the snow was crusty and icy. If your snowshoes don’t grip well, spikes/crampons would be needed.
The ski trail was broken out. From the top of the ski trail to the summit, we broke trail. From the Saddleback summit to the Horn, it was unbroken and deep powder. It was difficult to locate the trail. It was tricky hiking through the snow covered trees. There is one section where we were not on the AT but ended up joining it again. There are 3 sets of snowshoe tracks to follow now. |
