Trails: Pisgah Hill Loop
Date of Hike
Date of Hike: Wednesday, April 29, 2020
Parking/Access Road Notes
Parking/Access Road Notes: Room for maybe a half dozen conscientiously parked cars in the small lot. I was the only one there although I did see one other on trail.
Surface Conditions
Surface Conditions: Dry Trail

Water Crossing Notes
Water Crossing Notes: The water crossing near the beginning just before the loop junction is bridged but the bridge is not like most. It felt like walking across a ladder to the other side. It does have a railing on one side but it moves as you walk. Some people probably wouldn’t like it. Not like it’s a long drop into deep water though ;)
Trail Maintenance Notes
Trail Maintenance Notes: The trail was marked with little squares with the Pisgah Hill Preserve symbol and said trail. The trail was easy to follow. No blowdowns I recall.
Dog-Related Notes
Dog-Related Notes: Should be a fine trail for dogs. I saw one. The owner stopped with it (was talking on phone) to let me pass. The dog was eying me and didn’t look too happy. The owner had a leash in her hand but didn’t use it. Sure enough, as I got closer, the dog began growling and came towards me. This was after the owner said how gentle it was. She eventually restrained it so I could pass. Please be careful and courteous.

Comments
Comments: I had a little time after my redline of the Bradbury to Pineland Cordidor Trail and wanted to get another redline in before heading home. No views on this hike but nice ledges. I think you pass an old quarry part way down (going counterclockwise). The trail seemed to go two different ways at that point. Beyond that the trail was obvious. One other person seen who was presumably local as there were no cars other than mine at the trailhead. Temps in the mid 40s. Nice dry trail and easy to moderate grades.
