Comments
Comments: Had not hiked Old Blue in about 5 years. Trail was in good shape overall and the dry conditions made it a very enjoyable hike. If the trail was wet, it would be tough to descend in spots, with water running over smooth rock in a few spots. The steps and water bars were all in great shape.

Was concerned that tree growth would have blocked out the nice views from the summit area, but they thankfully did not. There are also a couple nice viewpoints down low. This is definitely a good workout hike of 5.6 miles, with steep sections at the beginning and the final push to the summit.

Saw roughly 8 people today. All but two were long distance hikers. The other two spotted cars and were doing a long, tough dayhike traverse from South Arm Road to Route 17. Great hiking with my neighbor, Tom.
