This was my first trip back here in 8 years. The only thing that changed was a sign near the trail that said "The Cave". A short path takes you there. It was nice, but I have seen some better ones, like near Piazza Rock on the AT below Saddleback. This hike gets rough after the first mile or so. The 360 degree views at the summit and those just east of it are spectacular. There were some decent blueberries a bit east of the summit, which is a rare treat this year, as it is a poor year for them. I continued down the summit and went to Cranberry Pond, which is very nice. That stretch of trail has lots of ups and downs. Saw about a dozen people on the trail. |
