Comments
Comments: Excellent weather for this hike. I parked approximately 1.1 miles down the Elephant Road at a fork in road. I veered right on the logging road eventually taking a hard left shortly after the 3rd exposed culvert. Following this grassy road eventually came across an evergreen with a ribbon at which point the ascent towards the summit began following an old skidder path. Approaching the summit this ends becoming virtually a solid wall of young evergreens and blowdowns. On the descent I took a herdpath down over incredible amounts of slash which extremely tedious to cross over. This hike was a clockwise loop. If I was hiking it again. It would be an out and back of the ascent avoiding the slash entirely. I noticed bear scat on way up and much more on the return. The summit book is 75 percent full. Elephant trunks, spatula and knife are at the summit
