Abol is a great warmup, gentle grades, several nice lookouts. Also has a spring that’s not marked on any map I’ve seen. Last push very steep to tablelands. Summit was in clouds but cleared as my group arrived. Quick easy hike to summit. Views never get old. No thru hikers, maybe 30-40 people......not bad been there with a lot more. We split up some doing Hamlin. Knife Edge was calling the rest of us. This never gets old. Windy but perfect temps. Only saw 2 others the whole way. We had this magnificent trail to ourselves! Pamola is a great Peak all by itself. Views from where we were. Absolutely stunning views today. HelonTaylor is a bear to go down, just never ends. Our 2 groups finished within 15 minutes of each other. An absolute great day with great friends! |
