Water Crossing Notes
Water Crossing Notes: All water crossings were easy
Trail Maintenance Notes
Trail Maintenance Notes: Two large evergreens (1 - 1.5 ft dia) across the Bickford Brook Trail (straddle over). One small evergreen across Bickford Brook Trail is a step over. A couple of overhead obstructions that are not a problem with no snow. One uprooted evergreen on Blueberry Ledge Trail that is currently easy to go under but may present a problem with snow. Blazes are faded in the wilderness area but the pathway is obvious.
Dog-Related Notes
Dog-Related Notes: Fine for dogs
Bugs: None
Lost and Found
Lost and Found:
Comments: No ice or snow. Muddy spots and standing water in many places along the route. Many of the ledges between the brook crossing and the White Cairn Trail were wet. There are alternative paths to get around these wet pitches. The drainage gullies on the Bickford Brook Trail are filled with wet leaves. The surface of the Bickford Brook Trail is brown leaves that potentially could mask underlying loose rocks although I experienced no problems today. Great views from the Blueberry Mountain ledges (loop trail off the Blueberry Ledge Trail). From the open summit there were great views of the Royces, the Carter Range, and Mt Washington. The tops of the northern Presidential peaks could be seen jutting above the Carter range.
