The ski trail part of the hike was a little hard to follow initially. Look for signs that say "UPHILL ACCESS" and you will find your way. Some areas have heavy equipment on them, as the ski resort is getting ready for opening. It took just under 1 hour to get to the AT, and past the ski trails. It was worth it!
Amazing views once you get to the AT, and then to Saddleback summit and then the way to the Horn. Used microspikes on the way to the Horn for a bit. Did not need them for the return. Total time for the hike was 5 hours roundtrip including nice lunch at the summit of the Horn hiding behind a rock from the wind (30 mph!) . Great sunny and mild day in November!! |
