We did a loop starting at the East Royce parking lot. We walked down the road to the Laughing Lion Trail. The leaves were very slippery on the first part until the trail goes into the spruces. We have now done all the peaks on the west side of Route 113 from Eastman to East Royce and I think East Royce is my favorite. There were white winged crossbills feeding on the cones in the spruce trees. Only saw 3 people on the way up to the summit but there was a steady stream coming up the East Royce Trail as we were heading down. |
