The hike to Mountain Pond was my favorite of the three. It's about 3 miles round-trip and climbs from Edelheid Road, steeply at times. It passes through some beautiful forest and is well-marked and maintained. Mountain Pond is very pretty and was a great place to sit an eat lunch. On the way down, I followed an abandoned section of trail which had a number of significant blowdowns and multiple wet sections, but the old blazes and footbed were still visible. |
