Comments
Comments: Today's first hike was on some new trails in the McCoy-Chapman Forest in Gilead. I followed the new section of the Chapman Brook Trail and Sam's Real, which is also new. The Chapman Brook Trail follows Chapman Brook and passes some beautiful cascades. Sam's Trail follows a grassy old logging road and connects the Chapman Brook Trail to the McCoy Gray Birch Trail.

Between this area and the Bethel Community Forest, it's really exciting to see so many new trails being built. There is a lot of potential in the area to connect to other parcels of conserved land and existing trail systems.
