Water Crossing Notes: All are small streams on Red Orange trail. The "Connector trail" between the Red Orange trail and the Starr Trail has a lovely bridge over a wider deeper creek.
Trail Maintenance Notes
Trail Maintenance Notes: None. Well maintained trail. See notes below regarding new trail and signage.

Dog-Related Notes: The Red Orange trail is a great trail for dogs. The ledges of the Starr Trail are steep and exposed, but not terribly long. Trail proven canines should be fine.

Comments
Comments: Route:
Red Orange trail > Connector trail > Starr Trail > Red Orange trail to summit and back to end.

Red Orange trail: well blazed and signed from beginning to end. Well maintained and popular trail.

Connector: super cute little path between the trails that is signed at both ends but not blazed. Clear corridor. Lovely bridge in front of some great cascades.

Starr Trail: initially this trail shares trail with the new "Borderline Cross Country Ski Trail." New blue blazes and blue diamond XC ski trail signs up. Super nice!! The XC ski trail leaves right a bit up this trail where fresh, well placed yellow blazes guide you up old woods roads, through dense woods, up some seriously steep (but not precarious) ledges, through more woods to the junction with the Orange Red trail. The views come on early and strong on this trail and are totally worth the "bear scramble" up the ledges. I discourage this trail in winter months, at least before the snow sets up. These ledges could be harrowing in icier conditions. The new signage and blazing made this trail so much more simple to follow than when I did it 3 years ago.

Great local trails on this nice day!
