Do not attempt to drive down Rapid Stream Road without at least 4WD/AWD ... I wouldn't attempt w/o snow tires either, but could manage if you take it really slow and careful. |

Wonderful winter hike. Snowshoes from parking lot to summit, could've prob bare booted above tree line, as some rocks are still exposed, but was lazy and kept them on. The trail was broken out a few days ago and easy to follow. Some snow drifts on top. Very windy on the, but amazing views. Only car at 8am, and passed two others on the way down (don't think they were summiting). Lots of moose tracks above `3500, saw some bear prints too. This hike feels super isolated and secluded. Would recommend (only if you have the right vehicle to reach the trail head). 2 hrs 15 mins to summit, 1 hr 15 mins back down. |
