Comments: Puzzle Mountain Trail (Grafton Loop Trail), Woodsum Spur

The wind storm has wreaked havoc on this poor trail down low. We both started in spikes and switched to snowshoes at the lower junction of the Woodsum Spur. There is far too much debris on the trail down low to work with snowshoes. There was much less debris on the trail at the high elevations. The trail alternated between packed snow, granular ice balls, and drifts. The Woodsum Spur was totally drifted over so we rebroke that and it's in nice shape now but SNOWSHOES are NEEDED FOR SURE. We kept the snowshoes on longer for the descent which was a wise moved. Still plenty of pockets of powdery snow.
