Moxie Mountain Trail (from Heald Ponds)
The trails are well marked and maintained thanks to a volunteer who has taken on most of the maintenance. It's a moderately difficult hike which brings you to some truly stunning and unique locations. The summit has ledges with good views, communications equipment, and a helipad (make sure to sign the logbook under the helipad), but what really makes this mountain special is the west ledges. They are a large expanse of rock and sandy gravel which I've never seen anything quite like before. It's one of those places that you need to see to believe! |
