||Bickford Brook crossing on Blueberry Ridge Trail was a bank to bank hop. The series of drainages on the Bickford Brook Trail were easy. |
|Trail Maintenance Notes:
||Blueberry Ridge Trail in good condition with only trees down in accordance with wilderness standards.
Bickford Brook Trail has numerous tree falls across trail that do not present any significant difficulties. Most of the blowdowns are prior to the junction with the Spruce Hill Trail. There are two downed trees just uphill from the Spruce Hill junction and one large evergreen across the Bickford Brook Trail uphill from the upper junction with the Blueberry Ridge Trail. |
||Fine for dogs |
||Bothersome black flies in the AM at lower elevations sheltered from any wind. Thankfully the bugs were deterred with the pick up in the wind in the afternoon |
|Lost and Found:
||The Blueberry Ridge Trail between the Bickford Brook crossing and Blueberry Mountain has some steep wet ledges. Many stretches of mud on all trails. Great views from the many ledges on Blueberry Ridge Trail, Outlook Loop, and the summit of Speckled Mountain. No snow on the Blueberry Ridge Trail. Small patches of snow of the upper parts of the Bickford Brook Trail that can be hiked with bare boots.|
Many hikers on the mountain today. Most were Mainers. Some leaves starting to poke out at the lowest elevation. Some early wildflowers.
