 | Parking/Access Road Notes: |
In Maine Mountain Guide we trust, GPS won't get you to the trailhead. Roads in decent shape but very dusty. The signs directing to the trailhead seem to be missing in a few places. Milage in guide book will get you where you want to go. |

OH dear me, they had me in tears at the trailhead. I thought I was in a Jack London story. Hiking fast and climbing higher they seemed to fall behind and leave me be. But at the trailhead beware you'll need a blood transfusion.

A steep fun one! Terrific views and at the bottom of the chimney from the small talus slope we could hear the Loons singing their crazy song coming up from the lake far below! We saw moose on the drive in and no other hikers. Some big fast heavy loaded logging trucks we yielded for along the lake/logging roads. Lew was here again. |
