Comments
Comments: Remote trailhead ha ha and we faithfully followed the Maine Mountain Guide's instructions but don't go down Sias Hill take the nicely graded Sias Hill Cutoff (we happily did on the way back). The road down Sias Hill at the top has two concrete pipes marking the beginning of a very bad road section, yah it should have a chain across it, the many water bars are deep and require creeping down and over while gritting your teeth. Again it seems like some road signs are missing or lacking. Very large sign at the entrance of the parking lot for Big Spencer. This trail is friendly especially compared to little spencer. But golly what flipping nightmare of a mess on the summit you think they'd be ashamed--wooden helicopter pad right in the middle of the trail at the entrance to the summit requiring climbing over it to continue to the top, stumps and mess solar panels, towers and a gigantic metal helicopter pad. Bushwhack to true summit was a little bloody for me ha ha and torn pants. Lew and I hunted all three bumps and spent much time looking for strings and things that we did not find. Views were awesome and so lucky to have another perfect day.
