Water Crossing Notes
Water Crossing Notes: All are easy, but be careful of the wet, mossy rocks.
Trail Maintenance Notes
Trail Maintenance Notes: Bog bridges up top have seen better days and some of the blazes could use a fresh coat (though trail is pretty easy to follow regardless).
Dog-Related Notes
Dog-Related Notes: Saw two labs who absolutely loved the water.
Bugs
Bugs: The black flies and gnats were out above roughly 3000 feet or so (basically the alpine and sub-alpine zone). But down in the actual woods there was nothing. Kind of odd, but we saw the same thing on Boott Spur a few weeks ago.

Comments
Comments: Love this hike. The first few miles along the stream are beautiful, and the last mile or so is spectacular. Picked it thinking it would be a less crowded option for the holiday weekend since the trailhead is off the beaten path, but still saw a fair amount of other people (though nearly all were semi-locals).
