I approached from Gosford Park in Quebec side of the border. I went up a tributary valley that feeds into Ruisseau Clearwater that is near Boundary marker 447 as directed by attendant at the park's welcome center. I followed an ATV trail that leaves a log landing/gravel pit at the head of the valley. The ATV trail petered out before reaching the boudnary swath so I was forced to whack up to the ridge. I came out on the un-named 3600' summit located just south of Boundary Marker 446.
I quickly proceeded to summit of Boundary Peak. The summit register is completely full and needs to be replaced. I signed in on random sheet of paper someone provided. For return I hiked the swath to point in saddle beyond the un-named summit. I took what I thought was an ATV trail, but later turned out to be an abandoned skidder trail that provided an excellent route. I followed it for more than a mile and it ended up connecting up with the ATV trail I originally took. I liked it becuase it avoided following the ATV trails. |
