 | Parking/Access Road Notes: |
We were staying at a Nesowadnehunk group tenting site so I walked to the trailhead. At 8 a.m., there were a number of spaces available at the day-hikers parking area, a little west of the Ranger's cabin. |

 | Surface Conditions: |
Dry Trail, Wet Trail, Mud - Minor/Avoidable |

|
 | Water Crossing Notes: |
The stream 1.4 miles from the north trailhead was a little higher than in past Octobers but not a difficult rock-hop. |
|
 | Trail Maintenance Notes: |
This Trail is beautiful in early October, with a rich mix of foliage and lots of moss. Very well-maintained. It predates switchbacks, though, and there are some very steep stretches. |

 | Comments: |
One of my favorite Baxter hikes on a perfect day. Great views from the open summit ridge without the crowds. |
