Today I visited some of the small peaks in Lovell. The first three, Amos Mountain, Flat Hill, & Whiting Hill are part of the Heald & Bradley Ponds Reserve. This is a nice, well marked and maintained trail system manged by the Greater Lovell Land Trust. I looped throughout the property and was able to hike most trails, visit every viewpoint, and visit every summit. Each mountain/Hill has one good directional viewpoint looking towards the Whites. My favorite was the viewpoint on Flat Hill, which I shared with a porcupine. I didn't see anyone else for the entire 7.7 mile hike in the reserve. |
