| Parking/Access Road Notes: |
Parked at the end of the loop road. Remember not to block the snowmobile trail if you park here. |

|
| Recommended Equipment: |
Snowshoes |
|
| Water Crossing Notes: |
Frozen and passable |
|
| Trail Maintenance Notes: |
A couple duck unders, and a step over. Nothing too big other than a big blowdown that is blocking the rerouted section near the wet area, but that is not a problem for winter travel. We took the old route. |

Parked at the winter area at the turn of Pond Loop road and walked the 1.5 to the summer trailhead in just boots as this section is packed snowmobile trail. We then changed to snowshoes for the rest of the hike. Pleasantly surprised that the trail had been tracked out, but dug up by a bare booter enough that is was definitely noticeable underfoot :( That stopped after about a mile, then the broken trail stopped about another .5 from there, where those folks turned around. We then proceeded to break out the rest of the trail to the col, and both summits. After the three of us traveled through it is in pretty good shape, but still loose snow on the steep sections. Could use a quick thaw and refreeze to make a more solid base. A few steps still showing through in places, so butt sliding may be a bit risky right now. ;) Had a beautiful and chilly day up there and enjoyed it very much. |
