About a 3 mile hike up access road to beginning of Saddleback wind summit trail… at turbine #12. Half mile to summit, gets steep last 0.3 mile. Summit was spectacular as usual…. Still many snow capped mountains. East ridge trail is a wonderful hike for 3/4 mile to the end where it’s signed. Views are panoramic… very well marked. There is a sign at trail junction saying trail to Bald mountain is closed. I had 9.95 mile out & back hike. Very enjoyable route to visit summit & east ridge trail. |
