Comments
Comments: Still lots of snow on the upper ski trails, tons of melting snow, runoff, and mud. The summits and exposed sections of trail are snow-free but patches of snow remain beneath tree line. I post-holed up to my thigh at one point (not fun) and the melting snow is additionally making things slick and bog-like in places. My hiking boots and socks were soaked by the time I finished. I wore my microspikes on the upper ski trails, took them off at the top and didn’t wear them till I descended the ski trails again. I’d recommend bringing them just in case. Awesome hike, but a bit of a slog w the high temps. Don’t forget sunscreen!
