Parking/Access Road Notes
Parking/Access Road Notes: Sparty has a thorough and helpful write-up from his April 25 report. I'd say as a general rule, if you have a vehicle with AWD and clearance, you should easily make it 3.1mi to the junction of the main road and a side ATV/snowmobile road. I parked here, which gives you a 6mi round-trip hike. If you have a sedan/low clearance, consider parking earlier than this. Conversely if you have experience and a truck/jeep/extra clearance, knock yourself out and you can most likely drive to the end of the ATV road.

Bugs
Bugs: Temps in the 40s and occasional showers kept them minimal. But on a sunny warm day they seem like they're ready.

Comments
Comments: A mountain where the drive is about as technical as the hike. The hike itself is very straightforward; from where I parked, you follow the ATV road 2.2mi where there is a large 3ft yellow-pained stake in the ground on the left side with sticks making an arrow left signifying the start of the unofficial herd path. There are occasional yellow blazes on the trees, although if you're doing this hike without snow, the footbed should be relatively easy to spot. Steady climb to the summit and canister available and functioning. I wandered around the moose herd paths at the summit to see if I could find any hidden interesting views to no avail.
