Hiking Trail Conditions Report
Peaks
Peaks Lord Hill, ME
Trails
Trails: Mine Road, Conant Trail, Mine Loop
Date of Hike
Date of Hike: Sunday, July 3, 2022
Parking/Access Road Notes
Parking/Access Road Notes: Parked at 90 degree turn near end of Mine Road. The last few tenths of road (past the Lord Cemetery) are pretty rough. A low-clearance car could probably make it but it wouldn’t be fun. I was going 5mph in 4x4 pickup and still had a few good bumps. New road is paved but ironically appears to be very old and has a few very rough stretches that you will want to go slow on.

Bugs
Bugs: Was getting rained on entire time with caterpillar poop. Lots and lots of it. Truck was covered in 45 minutes I was hiking. Very annoying flies here as well.

Comments
Comments: Needed mine loop and short section of Conant headed up lord Hill to clean up some redlines. Very quick hike/run after Baldfaces/Little Deer Hill. Easy grades. Great little view of Horseshoe Pond and the Speckled/Red Rock ridge line near the top. Mine looked cool but didn’t hang out to explore as I was past ready for a cider and artisan grilled cheese on the Kanc:)
