Comments: Old Blue mountain 3600’ on the AT, Township D, Franklin county
Appalachian Trail northbound from South Arm Road

First ½ mile is very steep and there are some excellent stone step sections. At other points in this first half mile trail is not well defined but totally do-able. Probably not a great choice of hike for those with fear of heights.

Did 4 miles total one way to well past the summit of old blue to the first viable water source. Wonderful and varied landscapes, great views of surrounds from summit and a number of other vantage points. Lots of thru hikers both northbound and southbound.
