Today I had the pleasure of visiting three spectacular peaks in the Mahoosucs which I hadn't been to yet. My route was up the Notch Trail, then along the AT south over Fulling Mill, South Peak and Goose Eye, North Peak to Goose Eye, East Peak before retracing my steps. All of the peaks had outstanding views in every direction, but the best were from East Peak. The section of the AT between Fulling Mill and Goose Eye is one of the most beautiful stretches of trail that I've ever seen with lots of walking through alpine meadows. In total, the hike was 11 miles long with 3,500 feet of elevation gain. |
