Parked at the trailhead on Rapid Stream Road. After seeing a roller near the beginning of the dirt section,i had hopes of a smooth ride ahead.... My hope was rapidly diminished as the road is quite rough, max speed for my common sedan was 6mph. |

A walkaround blowdown on Firewardens Trail, There are 3 blowdowns just below the MATC box on Mount Abraham trail. 1 very low duckunder, 1 small stepover and 1 large blowdown across the trail with a herdpath established. Before the tensite there is also 1 large straddler |

Excellent hike of these peaks. Water sources are plentiful on FW trail below the tensite. i prefer the water at the 2nd to last crossing before TS. The water supply for Spaulding Lean-to while low, its still very viable and cold.I did encounter a very curious pine marten on p
the Mt Abraham trail.it was nice chatting today with the hiker very close to finishing their NE 111. Best of luck at Baxter!! |
