It was a beautiful day for a short hike up Crocker Hill in Paris! I have only done this hike as an out-and-back before, so we opted to hike the loop today. The north side of the loop was quite interesting, as it has wells and other water supply infrastructure, as well as mine remains. We opted to skip the part of the loop which doubles back on itself, and instead opted to do a short bushwhack to the viewpoint near the summit. Here we enjoyed lunch, and read for a few hours before descending the typical route which passes by the majority of the old mine infrastructure. Crocker Hill has a nice easy trail network, lots of history, and good views! We also didn't see anyone else the entire time. |
