 | Comments: |
The first 1.5 miles can be barebooted. The trail is very wet with water running down the trail from all the rain. After that, spikes/trail crampons were needed. All the stone steps heading up to West Peak are covered in thick ice. Dull spikes will not be sufficient. Heading up to East Peak, the ledges were half bare rock and half ice. Too much ice to bareboot. If you are not in a hurry to bag this peak, it would be less dangerous and more enjoyable to wait for more snow cover. |
