From a slushy 2-4 inches at the trailhead to 12-15 inches of powder at the top. We broke partial trail the entire length of the trail (maybe 2 snowshoers before us). There was some hikers doing boots only making postholes. The trees were beautiful once you reach the ledges, covered in wet heavy snow. Light wind at the top, but a great view of the Whites (except for Washington of course). |
