The trailhead parking lot on Rockville St had one car in it when I arrived and one as I was leaving. Has room for probably a dozen cars or so that are conscientiously parked. No snow or ice in lot. |

Second hike of the day after my hike over Maiden Cliff and Megunticook in Camden on my way home from a couple days spent in Ellsworth hiking areas nearby. This is a delightful little hike. The trails have easy grades and currently no snow on them down low. There’s snow/ice up top. I didn’t bother putting on spikes. Some may want to. Great views and history at the top. Unfortunately, I hadn’t realized there was another trail to this needed in the guidebook. I certainly had enough time to do the quick OAB down to Beech Hill Rd. Oh well, it’ll give me a good excuse to come back to the area :) 2mi, 260ft of gain, 50min. And that was with some exploring, photo taking, and reading at the top. |
