I bare booted the logging road which is snowmobile packed, firm and icy. The first turnoff is a mix of washed out dirt, ice and snow. Above the second logging road crossing, the snow deepens and I switched to snowshoes although there are still some washouts. It's more than a foot of powder with a breakable crust higher up. There's a good snowshoe track now although snowshoes are probably still necessary. The Albany Mountain trail north of the Albany Mountain Spur is not broken out. I bushwhacked to the southwest ledges and I got good views but I maybe could have gone a little farther. |
