We got super lucky! Someone else had packed out the Marston trail on Wednesday before us. Then, temps melted snow, then it froze for a good solid base. We were able to wear trail crampons the whole way. We brought our snowshoes just in case, but didn’t need them. Trees are VERY dense after the pond. A lot of ducking and getting hit in the face, head and body. It was work pushing past the dense branches. Once above tree-line, we hit a few big drifts and postholes but nothing technical. It was windy so we didn’t stay long. Sign is busted and just sitting up at the summit. |
