Went up the AT to Old Speck today. I followed 2 postholers initially but passed them in my snowshoes. They made a pretty bad mess. The packed trail is only inches wide in places, surrounded by 2-4 feet of mashed potatoes. There’s a little ice, and some bare rock and unstable snow everywhere. Slippery and slushy. |
