Comments: Unnamed Hill in Stoneham (Five Kezar Ponds Preserve)

Found this little preserve last winter and was just amazed by the area and its SILENCE! Back for a summer hike. Combining the trails with a short road walk provides a nice loop of about 3 miles and 600 feet of elevation gain. Went up Mountain trail and down Orange/Ron's path. all trails nicely blazed and easy to follow. Mountain trail has easy grades leading up the hill. This side was nice and dry. Make sure and take Tom's path to the first viewpoint. Headed up to the top and another set of ledges with great views; take the short path past the main ledge for more views! Took the orange trail down past a small pool near the summit and then gently downhill. Lower part orange trail and part of Ron's loop did have a fair amount of mud so boots will get muddy. Short road walk back to the car. Even on this summer day the area was really quiet no sounds of civilization at all just wildlife! If you're in the area it is an awesome area to hike!
