Comments
Comments: I have not hiked this trail in over 10 years and encountered an overall well-maintained trail in very good overall condition. With all the rain we have had this summer, I was expecting much more mud and water but encountered only a handful of spots that we needed to skirt around which we did easily. There was plenty of wet rock but it is the type that has good texture and grip so we walked right up it. The summit was a bit crowded, which we expected on a Sunday, with 6-8 groups but there is room to spread out and people took turns ascending the tower. We passed 8-10 thru-hikers who were understandably shell-shocked having just come through the Whites and the flood damage in the Vt, most were looking forward to finishing in the next month. Overall it was a great day on a great trail.
